Addictions Healing Services offers ongoing compassionate and spiritual support, evidence-based educational services, faith-based recovery, and community resources for individuals, families, and older adults. We are a presence and guide for parish communities who seek information and resources for individuals and their families who are afflicted with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. We respond to all those we encounter with dignity, respect, and belonging.
Catholic Charities provides a helpline (1-856-342-4057) where you can leave a non-emergency message and have your call returned within 1 business day, a 5-week “WE THIRST™– Christian Reflections on Addictions” video educational series, a 10-week “Family Strengthening” Program, “Educating Seniors” presentations on medication use-misuse-abuse, family and individual support group referral (Community Connections), monthly newsletters, participation in faith-based recovery programs/services (Calix Society, Recovery Stations of the Cross, Recovery Mass, Recovery Retreat), and community resources and referrals. Programs can be customized for parishes upon request.
Recovery is for everyone – every person, every family, every community.
We know that substance use disorder impacts not just the person who struggles with addiction, but also their families (shame, guilt, isolation, withdrawal) and our entire church community. Addiction is a chronic brain disorder. It is also a spiritual disease, a relational disconnect from God. Catholic Charities is committed to being a guide to appropriate resources.

Consider the following now
”God of life, You made me in Your perfect image, to live in Your love and to give You glory, honor and praise. Open my heart to Your healing power. Come, Lord Jesus, calm my soul just as you whispered “Peace” to the stormy sea. St. Jude, most holy Apostle, in my need I reach out to you. I beg you to intercede for me that I may find strength to overcome my illness. Bless all those who struggle with addiction. Touch them, heal them, reassure them of the Father’s constant love. Remain at my side, St. Jude, to chase away all evil temptations, fears, and doubts. May the quiet assurance of your loving presence illuminate the darkness in my heart and bring lasting peace. Amen.”
